Water ring and ground source heat pump units are widely used in office buildings, shopping malls, high-end residential buildings and other occasions with the characteristics of flexibility and high efficiency and energy saving. The cooling capacity of a single unit is relatively small, and the diameter of the water pipe is mostly between DN20-25.

The number of air conditioners in the whole building is more than 100, and some as many as thousands.

The air conditioning unit has a public cooling water circuit, which is managed by the property, and the user can turn on and off the air conditioning. The user will not consider whether the cooling water flow is normal when opening the air conditioner.

Due to the large number of air conditioning units in the whole building, coupled with the uncontrollable number of air conditioning units, the dynamic hydraulic balance is difficult, and it is difficult to ensure that each air conditioning unit can get the appropriate water flow

Since the number of air conditioning units opened is related to the occupancy rate of the building, it is required that the open air conditioner allow cooling water to pass through, and the closed air conditioner does not pass through the cooling water, which requires variable flow control.

In the consideration of energy-saving operation of the pump, the pressure drop of each pipeline component of the cooling water circuit can be reduced as far as possible, which can reduce the head of the pump and save a lot of energy consumption of the pump.

Disadvantages of using traditional target water flow switch in water ring/ground source heat pump unit

It is difficult to install the target flow switch in the field with small pipe diameter, and the target plate is easy to get stuck at the bottom of the pipe.

Target flow switch pressure drop up to 3 ~ 5mH2O, increase pump energy consumption 5 ~ 10%. Many projects can not make the target flow switch open due to the final debugging, and finally remove the target plate (reduce pressure drop) short-circuit water flow switch (cheat customers), water flow switch has become a decoration, the air conditioning unit has lost its protective effect, the randomization of user startup and the unified management of cooling water contradict, once the user starts the pipeline without water, winter heating may lead to the heat exchanger "burst". Summer refrigeration high voltage switch frequent protection, the consequences are very serious. Of course, once the responsible installation company fails to open the target flow switch, it will replace the target flow switch with a baffle flow switch with a low pressure drop.

When the user starts the air conditioning unit, the air conditioning unit first determines whether to start the compressor by detecting the cooling water flow. The traditional target flow switch target is easily affected by the air in the water pipe, and frequent misoperation occurs, which often causes the air conditioning unit to fail to start normally.

The traditional target flow switch has no accurate flow protection value and disconnect value, which can not provide a reference in the hydraulic balance of water source heat pump, especially in the heating process, too low water flow may cause the heat exchanger to freeze "burst tube".

The pressure of the traditional target flow switch is only 10bar. For the water system of high-rise buildings, the pressure of the target flow switch is very high, and the target flow switch is in a high pressure state for a long time. The bellows used as the target flow switch hydropower isolation may break and cause water leakage.


Advantages of using WFS21/22 baffle flow switches in water ring/ground source heat pump units

The baffle type flow switch is equipped with three ways as standard in the factory, and on-site installation only needs to take over both ends of the flow switch.

The pressure drop of the baffle flow switch is only 0.2 to 0.5 meters of water column, which is about 1/10 of the pressure drop of the traditional target flow switch, and only 1 small part can save 5 to 10% of the energy consumption of the pump, which is a very typical energy-saving application in the air conditioning system.

The baffle flow switch has been calibrated in the factory, because no bellows flow calibration value is not affected by the static pressure in the field, the calibrated flow value can be referred to in the hydraulic balance. Appropriate water flow can ensure the normal operation of the air conditioning unit, once the water flow in the pipeline can not meet the requirements, it will protect the air conditioning unit.

The baffle flow switch is designed with high pressure, with pressure exceeding 25bar and stainless steel material up to 50bar, which is used in high-rise buildings without leakage concern.
